How to keep the thermal printed label fadeless for a long time

Time : 2022-08-20 Hits : 8

First, let's talk about why thermal paper has storage time.

Because the working principle of thermal paper is: input the printing information into the machine, stimulate the temperature rise of the print head, and induce chemical changes in the discoloration layer of thermal paper, so as to display clear words and images. Therefore, documents printed on thermal paper cannot be permanently saved, and the handwriting on them will fade over time. However, the speed of thinning is closely related to the quality of thermal label paper itself, processing and storage methods.

Generally, the material, structure and storage environment temperature of thermal printing paper will affect its storage time. If thermal printing paper wants to be stored for a long time, it has a lot to do with its own quality. The quality determines the quality of the printed data and the long storage time of the data, and even affects the service life of the printer over time.
Thermal printing paper is generally divided into three layers, namely paper base, thermal coating and protective layer. Generally speaking, the only two layers that will affect the quality of thermal printing paper are thermal coating or protective layer. So how to judge whether thermal label paper is good or bad? Here are three ways to teach you:

1. To see the appearance of the paper, we can first judge its quality by looking at its appearance. When observing the appearance of the thermal printing paper, we can first see whether its color is white. If the color is too white, it means that a lot of phosphor is added to the paper. In addition, we need to see the smoothness of the paper, and observe whether the whole paper looks uniform. If the surface is uneven, It shows that the thermal layer and protective layer are not well done during production, and the quality of the paper is not good enough.

2. Bake it with fire. If you can't judge by observation, you can bake the back of the thermal paper with fire. If the color of the thermal printing paper is brown after heating, it indicates that the quality of the thermal paper is poor and the storage time is short. If the paper is dark green and uniform in color, it indicates that the quality of the paper is good and can be stored for a long time.

3. Compare and identify the sunlight exposure. After the printed paper is smeared with a fluorescent pen, put it in the sun (this can speed up the reaction of the thermal coating to light). Which kind of paper blackens fastest indicates that the shorter the storage time is.
So as long as the preservation method is appropriate, it is basically no problem to keep it for a year and a half, so don't worry too much about such problems.
